According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 110, part 8.3.7, a fuel quality test is required at least annually using appropriate American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) standards or using the manufacturer’s recommendations. This regulation was implemented to avoid an unexpected generator failure. By completing an annual fuel quality test, you reduce vulnerability and avoid loss of service, which could potentially be detrimental to your organization.

Our fuel test uses multiple ASTM methods including:

  • Flash Point (ASTM D93) to determine if the fuel is flammable
  • Water and Sediment (ASTM D1796) to identify if the fuel is causing corrosion/processing problems
  • Microbiological (Culture Test) to detect harmful microorganisms that try to cause significant damage
